Norma Hedin is a graduate of William Jennings Bryan College (Dayton, TN) where she earned a BA in Christian Education, with a minor in Biblical Studies. She also earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education and PhD in Foundations of Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, TX). She has done post-doctoral work in Higher Education Administration at the University of North Texas.

Prior to her appointment to BHCTI, she was Professor of Foundations of Education at Southwestern from1990 to 2006. Dr. Hedin served as Associate Dean of Masters Degree programs from 1999-2004. She was recognized by “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” for eight years. She currently teaches and serves as a research consultant at Dallas Baptist University and teaches regularly at the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary in Cochrane, Alberta.

Dr. Hedin has served on a church staff in educational ministry, and has conducted Christian education training seminars in teaching and learning. She is an active member of the North American Professors of Christian Education, where she has served on the Board of Directors and held elected offices. She currently serves as an area book review editor for the NAPCE publication, the Christian Education Journal. She has written chapters for textbooks, articles, and Bible study curriculum.

Dr. Hedin and her husband, Eric, have two daughters: Kirsten and Kayla.
