The New Horizons Campaign is comprised of four parts. As a result, there are several different avenues for giving within the overall unified campaign:
ENDOWED CHAIRS AND PROFESSORSHIPS
Target: $5 million
Academic chairs are established with a minimum of $500,000 (fully funded with $1 million); professorships are established with a minimum of $100,000
- The Russell H. Dilday chair was established and associated with a Center for Advanced Studies.
- Plans for two other chairs have been initiated: 1.) a chair named in honor of Dr. James McKinney, former Dean of the School of Church Music, associated with a Center for Worship and Mission, and 2.) a chair named in honor of Dr. Gerald Marsh and Dr. Preston Taylor associated with a Center for Chaplaincy Studies.
- Two other chairs and/or professorships will be sought in the campaign.
ENDOWED PROGRAMS
Target: $1,500,000
NexSource -- the online digital library requires information services personnel, acquisition of digital and hard copy resources, and ongoing maintenance. Projected need: $330,000.
Oxford -- the Oxford Studies Program funded for 2008 in 2009 by the Baugh Foundation.
Projected need: $240,000
Cuba -- Six classes in the Masters program at the end of 2007 with 33 students; initial funding raised in partnership with Park Cities Baptist Church. In 2008 we will have more than 2500 students in 4 teaching churches and their respective learning centers. Projected need: $400,000
China -- Leading-edge opportunity with appointed missionaries to train pastors and teachers in mainland churches. This project will seek funding from appropriate national and international foundations. Projected need: $330,000 per year.
Scholarships -- Student scholarship funds, the largest currently funded and named for Joan Trew, will grow to $100,000.
ANNUAL GIVING
Target: $800,000
- Churches -- A primary source for perennial funding rests in our "Teaching Churches" that designate a budget item each year to the Institute. This group will be expanded to 100 "Friends of Carroll" churches.
- Individuals -- faithful supporters of the Institute in annual giving have numbered over 150 per year.
- Friends of Carroll -- Enlist "Friends of Carroll" prayer and support team.
PROPERTY AND FACILITY
Target: $2,700,000
- Three acres of land, and
- A two-story brick office hub and central facility, 18,000 ft.
Three-year campaign total: $10,000,000
